all while getting a little dirt on our boots along the way.
COWBOY CULTURE
Not everyone who walks through the arena gate is an experienced cattleman, rancher, or rodeo athlete—but everyone can become a cowboy!
While many of the competitors bring years of knowledge and skill into the arena, a large part of our Ministry Team is made up of volunteers who are learning as they go. No experience is required to get started! Here are some areas where you might want to get involved and be part of the action!

TEAM ROPING

These ropings would not be possible—let alone produced with excellence—without our volunteers. As a volunteer, you will be placed in an appropriate role based on your experience and abilities. Volunteers may serve as pushers, in the crowding pens, running the head gate, in the alley, or in the stripping chute. The Arena Team works hard to place volunteers where they can excel and where they are physically capable of performing the duties safely and confidently.
Our goal is to use each volunteer’s strengths while hosting Team Ropings with excellence.
BARREL RACING
Barrel Races are an important part of what we do, and they wouldn’t be possible without our amazing volunteers. Volunteers play a key role in making each event run smoothly. During a Barrel Race, volunteers are paired together and are responsible for making sure the barrels are properly set after they are knocked over or once the arena has been dragged.

Walking Out Our Faith
Our ministry began because a Jesus-loving cowboy named Pastor Randy Weaver spent 13 years in the professional rodeo world, and he made it a point to share the gospel and began hosting church services at every rodeo event he attended. Now, the church has its own rodeo arena, and we continue this legacy by producing rodeo events in order to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Fun with a Purpose
Lone Star Arena is a mission-based ministry that is passionate about reaching people for Christ who are drawn to the cowboy lifestyle. The Lone Star Arena Ministry is a thriving organism of people who enjoy and participate in Western culture.
People who come here to compete or volunteer are taught how Jesus lived by utilizing bible studies and serving in the Lone Star Arena and other community outreach events. By participating in any event here, you are surrounded by a group of people who ultimately want to know and glorify Jesus better in their daily lives. We incorporate prayer, scripture, and fellowship into every aspect of life and activity here at Lone Star Arena.

Lone Star Arena is a state-of-the-art, multi-use facility that features a covered arena complete with roping chutes, bucking chutes and warm up area. The concert-quality sound system ensures that your music or voice will be heard and the giant fans will keep you cool.
